Mouse Troubles
Yes! I have had a little visitor in my house for the past week and do I have stories to tell! Last Saturday, February 2nd, I was up and dressed and I saw a mouse run across the floor in my bedroom, yes my bedroom! I froze, and didn't know what to do. I live in a brand new house right now, but we do have lots of construction around us and a huge field. I decided to go and grab a sticky trap that I had in the kitchen. When I got back to my bedroom, he was peeking his little head out of my closet. As I stood by my bed, he wandered past me and into the master bedroom. So i put the trap down in the master bedroom and closed the door because I had to be somewhere. I informed my roommates later that we have a creature in our house! yuck! That night I was babysitting for my friend Julie. I didn't get home until late that night, so when I got home I was so tired I went straight to bed (that was around 3 am). About 5:30 I heard a noise in my bedroom. I had been sleeping lighter that night (I usually am a really deep sleeper) because I had to listen for Maisey when I was at Julie's house, so now I sat up in my bed and turned on the light. And just as the light turned on, the mouse fell out from behind my blinds in the window onto the floor! AHHH! Yeah, so I grabbed my blanket and pillow and closed my door and went to the couch. About 2 minutes after I layed down on the couch, I heard another noise. So I got up and turned on the light in the familyroom. There was the mouse in the hallway- the noise was his body squeezing underneath my bedroom door (bytheway, my finger can't even fit under my bedroom door-I tried). So at that point, I went and woke up my roommate Annie, and slept in her room (after shoving a curtain under her door). On monday we went and bought more of the snap down traps- we had heard those were the best. We set them up and thought we had this little guy. We didn't see him or hear him for about 3 days. So we were wondering if he was still visiting us. Then Thursday morning I got up to go to work, which I had a meeting to be to so I didn't want to be late. And as soon as I walked in to the kitchen I heard a lovely noise in the pantry. My roommate Annie was up, so I had her get the broom and I grabbed a tupperware container (don't ask me why). I opened up the pantry and she saw him on the ground inbetween some things. So I started pulling things out and he would run behind something else. She was making sure that he didn't get out (that is what the broom was for). I almost had him trapped in a corner, but then he got away. My heart was racing and my hands were shaking- I wasn't planning on catching the dumb thing, that is what traps are for. But apparently those haven't worked yet either. Annie couldn't believe I was so determined to get this guy, but I was sick and tired of losing sleep because of him. I had to leave for work so we shoved a towel under the pantry door (to at least make us feel better). Then Friday night Annie text me when I was on my way home. She saw him go in the vent of our fireplace. So when I got home we got out the rest of the traps and I pretty much lined the fireplace with traps (we were at least trying to out smart this thing- he had to come out sometime-right?). So we didn't see him or catch him by the time we got up on Saturday. And we haven't seen him since. I bought a trap that has bait in it and traps them inside. We haven't found him in that. The next plan is using decon poison, but I'm not looking forward to finding a dead carcass somewhere in my house, and a smelly one at that. Two of my friends said that they have things you plug into the wall and they make a high pitch sound that humans can't hear, but drives the rodents away. So Saturday I bought four of those (ultrasonic rodent repelers). So hopefully they will at least keep the other mice away! Which I would be thrilled about-especially with the dreams I have had this week. I have concluded that if this mouse would just die and we knew he was dead, I'm pretty sure my stress level would drop. I am trying to get my pictures off of my camera, because then I know this would be much more interesting, but the computer isn’t cooperating with me at the moment. How about I will post the pictures as soon as I can. If anyone has any suggestions or cures-Please let me know! :) Or if anyone would like to personally come over and kill it, that would be great too! :)

That is crazy! I would be fah-reaking out if I were you. Hopefully the little guy will leave you alone.
Wow! That is quite the story! I don't think I would be able to sleep period if there was a mouse in my house! Good luck with the extermination!
That stinks about the mouse in the house. Did you buy a house? Or is it one of your friends? I really want to come visit St. George one of these weekends. I miss it down there, and I miss you. I am probably going to visit Krista for a weekend, and when I do we will both come down and we can go to dinner or something.
The snow in your previous post looks like A LOT more fun than your pesky mouse! I hope he's a goner soon so that you can sleep well. It's always fun to visit your blog and see what you're up to!
OH MY GOSH!!! I would be freaking out... i do not like rodents... i would have to have gotten a hotel- i am not kidding either!!! I am so proud of you... because i would'nt have even tried to catch it!!
I hate mice...My friend, Tara, has also had mice problems at her house. She solved it by moving though. Their mice are actually living in the WALLS of the house and have created a whole network and colony. No way to whipe 'em out. GROSS.
Ok, that mouse is seriously smart. He must have had a great teacher like you. Just think once you do catch it, you will have to find something else to update me on everyday. I'm sure that won't be too hard, we usually don't have a hard time thinking of what to talk about everyday now do we?
I'm not quite sure if you are brave or crazy trying to catch that thing by yourself! Ha Ha!!
HOly cow thats so crazy so when we had a mouse the only thing that worked was peanut butter but hey we got him the next day so i guess you could try it
